The Art Loop of Chicago is amazing and I named it STREET MUSEUM OF GIANT SCULPTURE, because anywhere you look at, always you will see Art. You can touch the work that was making by famous artist, such as Joan Miro and Pablo Picasso. The Art Loop has seventeen places that you can go to. However, in this time I just went to five places. I like to enjoy and spend my time contemplating art, and trust me I was waking around the Picassos’s Chicago almost 50 minutes, trying to find out the head’s woman. Finally, I got it; I saw her lips, nose, hair, and eyebrows. I always thought that was an elephant.
The first place I went it was the Flamingo by Alexander Calder. It is a huge red metallic structure that you can interpret in many ways, because it is an abstraction, it could be anything you want in that moment. The red red color is a pure contrast between the gray and cold colors of the rest of the buildings.
The second artist work I visited, it was the Four Seasons by the Russian artist Marc Chagall. It is an enormous rectangle. Each face has little pieces of tiles that all together draw the Chicago’s landscape. I took a great photo.
The third place I contemplated, it was the Miro’s Chicago by the Spanish artist Joan Miro. What can I say? It is a Miro. The Sun, the Moon, and the Star. The earth mother is represented in this sculpture. And if you go around you will see that the sculture is a woman's body with straight arms in front of her, a long neck, and a comp that Spanish women use to hold their hair. The fourth place I went is in front of the Miro’s Chicago, which is Picasso’s Chicago. I already wrote about my experience with Picasso.
Finally, the fifth place was the Monument with Standing Beast by Jean DuBuffet. Trust me, the Beast is there.
I love Chicago!!! and its STREET MUSEUM.
