I Have Learned That Life Give Me a Second Chance.

My name is Solongo Ariguun and I came from Mongolia. After my high school graduation in Mongolia, I preferred to take an exam which can be decided my whole life. Unlike in the U.S, every student in my country who finished high school must take this final exam. During this exam, Ministry of Education staff gave a score to each student and made an order for more to less. In the result, student who stands up in the first row could choose his or her favourite college first. Even though I had a good, even best grade and recommendation, it did not help me to attend my favourite college. The final exam was the only factor that can decide what college I can attend. The day came. Even though I prepared a lot, I lost my chance to be the leader. I disappointed myself and my whole hope was blown away. I felt like I drowning in an ocean without rescue because I know how education was important to us in this era. However, life gave me another chance to test and show myself on more time. I saw an advertisement on TV which said that I can get 75% scholarship and go to the U.S. Of course, if I compete with other student and if I will be the leader. It is a huge chance to get a quality education with that lower cost in U.S. Also I can see multiple nation at one time. This time I had no right to lose. I did not lose my chance. I found my self confidence again. Moreover, I found that life did not treat me too harsh. I believe in second chances. Every time, everywhere we lose our chance but life always give us another chance if we can find it.

Solongo, what a great thing to believe in -- we all need second chances. Thanks for sharing your story.
